बागवानी विशेषज्ञ ने किया खुलासा : यहां लगा था हिमाचल का पहला सेब बगीचा
मंडी: हिमाचल में सेब की खेती का सूत्रपात कुल्लू के बंदरोल में हुआ था। यहां सन 1870 में सेब का पहला बगीचा लगा था। इसे लगाने वाले एक अंग्रेज कैप्टन आरसी ली थे। उन्होंने इस बगीचे का नाम बंदरोल ऑर्चर्ड रखा। सेब के पौधे इंगलैंड से मंगवाए थे जोकि इंगलिश और अन्य यूरोपीय वैरायटियों के थे। कैप्टन ली के बाद कई दूसरे अंग्रेजों कैप्टन एटी बैनन, मिस्टर थिओडोर, मि. डब्ल्यूएच डोनाल्ड, कर्नल रेन्निक, मि. डफ , मि. मैके व मि. मिन्नीकेन आदि ने कुल्लू और मनाली के बीच भिन्न-भिन्न स्थानों पर सेब और अन्य फलों के बाग लगाए। ये सब बाग 19वीं सदी में लग गए थे और कुल्लू का एरिया सेब के फलों के लिए मशहूर हो चुका था। हिमाचल के बागवानी विशेषज्ञ डा. चिरंजीत परमार ने इसका खुलासा करते हुए कहा कि उस समय सड़क की सुविधा नहीं थी लिहाजा फलों को खच्चरों और कुलियों द्वारा बाहर भेजा जाता था। कुल्लू के सेब बागवान उस दौरान काफी लोकप्रिय हो चुके थे और उनके सेब पार्सलों द्वारा भारत के विभिन्न स्थानों में भेजे जाते थे। कुल्लू के सेबों का पार्सलों द्वारा बिक्री का सिस्टम बाद में भी काफी वर्षों तक चलता रहा। बहुत से लोगों की य
