A Rootstock is a plant, which already has an established, healthy root system, used for grafting a cutting or budding from another plant. The part being grafted onto the rootstock is usually called the scion. According to Vinod Soni, he started the plant with an initial production capacity of 25,000 root stock of MM series of apple per year but with his knowledge, hard work and dedication, he managed to increase the capacity to one lakh root stocks of apple per year.
