About Rajat Biotech
Vinod Soni, who hails from the Padyalag village of Bilaspur
district, is the only entrepreneur from himachal Pradesh dealing in production
of apple, cherry and pear root stock through ‘tissue culture and stoolling. He
established his biotech production lab, named Rajat Biotech Farm. In Dadhol
village near Ghumarwin, just some years back in 2006 and, in this very short
period has emerged as the leading supplier of apple, Cherry and pear root stock
in the northern India.
According to Vinod Soni, he started the plant with an initial production capacity of 25,000 root stock of MM series of apple per year but with his knowledge, hard work and dedication, he managed to increase the capacity to one lakh root stocks of apple per year. Keeping in mind the rising demand for this root stocks in Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal & Uttarakhand, Soni now produce three lakh of root stock even year our targeted increase our capacity every year.
Presently, this biotech plant is spread in over 8 acre of land and is having about 70 workers. With changing course of time, apple-growing community now prefers these root stocks over the normal ones as they are much resistible to various kinds of diseases. So I feel there is still great scope for more such enterprises, “feels Vinod Soni. The horticulture Department Nouni University, IHBT Palampur & N.H.B. sport to me is as technically, financially which is big power for running this project and got success in this. Till 2015 from 2006 Rajat Biotech give about 8.40 Lakh plant to orchardists of H.P and J&K, Arunachal which plants give very best quality Fruit to Orchardists.
In year 2012 we established a big Tissue culture Laboratory named as Nishant Biotech with Cost 111 Lakhs. This Project is certified from Department of biotechnology Govt. of India. This is single project in all over India which is doing work in virus free apple root stock and certified from D.B.T. This project capacity is 10 lakhs plant producing annually for 2013 – 2015.
We go for four lakhs virus free root stock and trees for Nishant Biotech. Our Total production target of year 2013-2015 about seven lakhs virus free root stock from both laboratory Rajat Biotech & Nishant Biotech. Certified ISO – 9001:2008.
